Yes, a visa is mandatory for UK passport holders to enter Uganda. But, UK citizens are eligible to get the document online. You can apply for the East Africa Visa or the Uganda Tourist eVisa.

HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO APPLY FOR THIS EVISA?

You can complete the visa application form in 10 minutes. This form is quite simple, so it shouldn't take long. Also, you have the iVisa support team to help you through the process.

HOW MANY TIMES CAN I ENTER UGANDA WITH MY UK PASSPORT?

If you need a Single Entry visa for the trip, you can apply for the Tourist eVisa. Otherwise, if you are looking for a Multiple Entry visa or will visit Kenya and Rwanda too, you should fill out the visa application for the East African Visa.

IF THIS DOCUMENT IS APPROVED, DOES THIS GUARANTEE MY ENTRY TO THE COUNTRY?

The final approval is done at the selected point of entry (the Entebbe International Airport if you’re traveling by air) or at the Immigration Office. This means that if you're outside Uganda and have all the documentation required, plus your eVisa, you should be able to enter Uganda. Please note that you must get all the required documents; otherwise, the immigration authorities can deny you entry.

WHAT IS THE EAST AFRICAN VISA?

One of the e-visas options for UK tourists is the East Africa Visa. This visa application permits you to travel to the Republic of Kenya, the Republic of Rwanda, and the Republic of Uganda. It’s a single application process to get a Multiple Entry visa, so you can enter the three countries as often as possible during the document’s 90 days after arrival of validity.

You must pay attention to one detail to get this visa online: the travelers must not have another current Uganda, Rwanda, or Kenya visa.

HOW LONG CAN I STAY IN UGANDA WITH THE EAST AFRICA VISA?

The East Africa Tourist Visa permits UK citizens a maximum length of stay of 90 days in Total. You can spend 90 days in Uganda or travel to three countries: Uganda, Kenya, and Rwanda.

WHAT ARE THE REQUIRED DOCUMENTS TO APPLY FOR THE EAST AFRICA VISA FOR FOREIGN CITIZENS

The traveler needs the following documents to apply for the East Africa Visa:

  • Recent passport-size photograph. If you don’t have one, you can count on the iVisa Photo Service

  • Original Passport - You must scan your personal details. The passport validity must be at least six months after the arrival date.

  • Yellow Fever Vaccine

WHAT IS THE TOURIST E-VISA?

UK citizens also can apply for the Uganda Visa for tourists online. This eVisa gives access only to the Uganda territory. All you have to do is to fill out the form on iVisa application page with the required documents and your personal information. Once the processing time is finished, you will receive the electronic visa via email.

The Tourist eVisa is valid for 90 days after issued.

HOW LONG CAN I STAY IN UGANDA WITH THIS TOURIST VISA?

The Tourist e-Visa allows a Single Entry and a maximum stay of 45 days in Total.

WHAT ARE THE REQUIRED DOCUMENTS TO APPLY FOR THIS UGANDA E-VISA?

You must have the following documents on hand to fill in the Tourist eVisa application:

  • Applicant Photo. If you don’t have one, you can count on iVisa Photo Service

  • Valid Passport - You must upload a scanned copy of personal details. The passport must be valid for at least six months after the arrival date.

  • Last Page of Passport (if applicable)

  • Yellow fever vaccination certificate

  • Invitation Letter (if applicable)

  • The immigration status of the host (Purpose of travel: Family Visit) (if applicable)

  • Return flight ticket (if applicable)

  • Supporting document for a visit (Medical) (if applicable)

You can choose one of the processing times and fees below to get your Uganda Tourist eVisa:

  • Standard processing time: 7 days - USD $121.49.

  • Rush processing service: 5 days - USD $167.49.

  • Super Rush processing time: 3 days - USD $231.49.

HOW TO FILL OUT THE VISA APPLICATION

The East African e-Visa and Uganda e-Visa have similar applications; the difference is the information and requirements you must submit (check above). To fill out the form, you must follow the three steps:

  • First, read all the information, and provide your details. Then, choose the preferred processing time for the e-visa.

  • Second, double-check and verify your information to avoid any mistakes. After that, choose a payment method for the service fee.

  • Third, attach any required documents and click on the ‘submit’ button to apply for your e-Visa.

Once you successfully apply for your electronic visa, you will receive a receipt and confirmation of the final document for the trip.

WHAT DO I DO IF I NEED A BUSINESS VISA?

The eVisas are for tourism purposes only. You need to visit the embassy for business or other visa types, providing additional documents for the application.

WHAT ARE THE COVID-19 ENTRY REQUIREMENTS?

Besides COVID-19, Flu, and Yellow fever vaccine, there are some vaccines recommended to enter Uganda. Otherwise, you don’t need to present proof of COVID-19 vaccination status for the trip.
