Grenada Passport Photos and Visa Photo Requirements – Rules, Guidelines, and Specifications

We know that we already listed the Grenada passport photo requirements above, but we decided to expand on a few of them so that you can have as much information as possible. Perhaps you did not know this, but one of the most common causes of passport application rejection is an improper set of photos.

  • First, you have to find the right setting in which to take your picture. You are asked to take it against a white background. It cannot have any colors, patterns, or shadows on it. A white wall is sufficient, but if you do not have one in your house, you can just take a white sheet and hang it somewhere.
  • For the best possible exposure, please place the camera at eye level. That way, all your facial features are visible. You cannot rotate or tilt your head in any direction when you take the picture because both sides of your face must be equally visible. Needless to say, you cannot submit a portrait-style photo.
  • You are not allowed to smile in your passport photo or visa photo. Nor can you frown or raise your brows. The only acceptable facial expression is neutral. To achieve that, please relax your face when taking the picture.
  • Look straight into the camera when taking the passport photo. Your eyes must not be obstructed by your hair or glasses. If you do have to wear your glasses, make sure there is no glare in the photo. Also, keep in mind that you cannot appear in your passport photo wearing sunglasses or eyeglasses with tinted lenses.
  • When choosing the environment in which you take your passport photo or visa photo, make sure that the lighting is adequate. It cannot be too bright or too dark. Also, you have to make sure that it does not form shadows on your face. Choose a source of light that is in front of you.
  • Headwear is usually not acceptable in your passport photo or visa photo. If, however, you have to cover your head at all times due to religious beliefs, you can keep your veil. Just make sure that it does not cast shadows on your face and that your face is visible from the top of your forehead to the bottom of your chin.
  • If your everyday look includes a beard, you can keep it for your passport photo or visa photo. If you plan on making any changes, make sure to make them before you take your picture.

Rules and Requirements for Babies, Infants, and Newborn Passport and Visa Photos

Children need to have their own passports and visas too, which is why you need to apply for them as well when traveling together. You can take their picture also. Just make sure to follow the tips we put together below.

  • The only significant difference between a child’s passport photo and an adult’s passport photo is that a child’s head can occupy less surface in the picture.
  • Take the photo when your child is awake.
  • When using the car seat method, do not forget to cover the backrest of the chair with a white sheet. All background rules apply to children’s passport photos as well.
  • If you want to photograph your baby from above, remember to place a white layer underneath him/her.
  • Remove, pacifiers, hats, toys, etc. When taking the picture.
  • If you need to hold the baby when taking the photograph, remember that only the baby can appear in the picture. You can wear a white shirt and make sure that your hands are not in the shot.
