Ivory Coast visa-free countries

Every country in the world has its own visa policy, which is basically a set of rules that are meant to govern who enters the country and under what circumstances. At the same time, every state has a list of visa-exempt nationalities, which means that those nationals can enter the country without a visa. The policy is a result of treaties and accords between the issuing state and the states whose citizens can enter the said state without a visa. As you can imagine, the entire system relies on reciprocity.

The Ivory Coast is no different. As a result of many treaties and accords, its visa policy contains a list of 23 countries whose citizens can cross the border without a visa. The rule also applies to refugees and stateless people who reside in those 23 countries. However, there are a few things that are worth mentioning. For one thing, not all those nationalities can stay in the Ivory Coast without a visa for just as long. For instance, the citizens of Chad can enter the Ivory Coast without a visa and stay there for 90 days, while the citizens of Burkina Faso are allowed to spend a maximum of just 30 days.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

What about the citizens who are not from an Ivory Coast visa-free country?

The answer to that question is self-explanatory. The rest of the nationalities need to obtain a visa. Nevertheless, they can do that using one of the two available ways. The first one, which becomes less and less popular, is the one that involves an application process at the nearest Ivorian embassy. If you choose this method, you need to put together a file containing all the required documents, and then go to the embassy and fill in an application. Just make sure that you call the embassy before going there so that you learn all the requirements from a reliable source. After all, the internet may not be the most reliable.

The other method which proved to be the favorite is the online application process. iVisa can help you with that. When you apply online, the process is much shorter and more straightforward.
